History

In 2010 3rd Wombourne Scout Group celebrated it’s 30th Birthday. As part of the celebrations, a history of the group was put together. This includes a list of current and previous leaders and some key dates in the group’s history.

The group was founded in 1980 by Bob Hampson who had close links to Wombourne Methodist Church, where the group met in its early days until acquiring its own premises in 2016. The group still maintains very close ties to the Methodist Church.

In it’s early days, the group worked closely with 3rd Sedgley, who shared Bob as a founder.

The group chose scarlet red as it’s neckerchief colour, and is still proud to wear the colour today.
